Replacing a broken valve spring

Just looking for a little advice on replacing a broken valve spring. I have a 98 f150 with the overhead cams so I'm assuming I'm going to have to take the cam off (is that correct). I'm planning on getting a repair manual from autozone, should that be enough to fix this and is it going to be pretty step by step. I do my own work on my motorcycle engines but this will be the first time I attempt my truck. Any advice or even step by step help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I have replaced broken valve springs a LOOOONG time ago on an Olds engine and it was pretty much a piece of cake. Have also replaced seals on Ford 460 engine (would be about the same as replacing a spring) and also wasn't bad. From what I remember the cam is held down by caps, right? If it slid in from the end, you'd have to pull the head. Have not worked on a Ford Modular but it shouldn't be bad. Just pressurize the cylinder and use whatever tool they have for that application to release pressure on the spring. From there, it's all downhill! Make sure you have a good magnet to catch the keepers.
