200,000 mile spark plugs
200,000 mile spark plugs
Thanks to the Ford engineers better ideas we have spark plugs that get stuck in the head upon removal.
What are others getting before the plugs must be replaced? Anybody out there with 200,000 miles?

Thank god your not a Ford Engineer. Let me guess, your a newborn, - yesterday maybe?
There are many people with 100k+ on their plugs.... but for what, I dunno.
Why would anyone want to run plugs for that long. That's like asking if anyone has ran their tires for 200k. It's maintenance, do it.

i just bought my truck a month ago, and i got a big stack of reciepts, nothing shows the plugs ever being done... and my shop said it looks like its been a long time... sometime in the next week or so ill be getting them changed out and see... if they're original... they have 229k miles

anyways, i changed mine myself at 110,000 miles (i think), no broken plugs, and am at 164,000 miles now. if someone wants to fork over the $100+ for a set of plugs ill do it again to see if they come out easier now that they have anti seize, and to check the ware. if not give me a year and i will be around 200k and ill change them again
Know this thread is more about the 3V but my father purchased one of the first 97 4.6L on a local dealer's lot and it was over 200K before the plugs were changed in it. Wasn't much left of each plug when they were pulled out. Have no ideal when it went that long before a change, as my father is pretty good about maintenance.
???
This should be a recall issue, no doubt
" Very poor maintenance" I defer to the "better idea" once again. And just for fun who the hell are you anyway?
