rattling pcv

Hello fellow f150 fans,
i've got a question..and yes i have used the search button (alot). When my engine is at idle my pcv valve is rattling like a s.o.b. From what i read on this site is that it shouldn't be doing it that loud? am i right? Should it be replaced? or just leave it?
I'm thinking this might be my solution to my problem also. Once my truck warms up and in drive it idles from 700 up to 900 or more then back down to 700 again and repeats itself. when i have my foot on the brake it feels like its trying to pull away. from what i've read it could possibly be a vacuum leak. am i right about this too? should i just replace the pcv valve and hose?
also my truck i a 2002 lariat f150 5.4 with 110,000 miles.

Replace the pcv valve with a motorcraft replacement. Inspect the line from the valve to the back of the throttle body for any deterioration or holes. Especially at the 90* elbow in the back.

ya i was checking the hoses when i found out that my pcv was rattling. i didn't get very far in looking at the hoses i just felt the elbow and it seemed fine. i thought i felt a crack but i couldn't tell. how easy would it be to tell if there is a leak with the engine on.
and ya i was gunna stay away from after market ones because i read how they rattled too. thanks once i get the time i'll either order one or see if advanced has a motorcraft one.

Does your tube need replacing? Are there signs of deterioration or cracks? If not, it's not doing any harm. If so, replace asap.
