Help please 5.4l triton

Got home tonight to see my 2000 f150 leaking coolant.I added some coolant and started the engine to see were it is comming from and it looks to be on passanger side from the underside of a potmedal pipe that runs from head/valve cover to the thermastat.Does any one know what that piece is called or what is wrong,Thanks guys.

Sounds like your intake manifold cracked. Seems to be common on the composite intake manifold, typically passenger side where the metal crossover tube meets the composite intake.

That is exactly where my intake manifold cracked. I replaced it myself ($240), and took my time. It took me about 3-4 hours because I really took my time and cleaned up the mess. The crack was not noticeable until I took off the manifold and flipped it upside down. This was the first modern intake manifold I have ever replaced. YOu can do it. There are many internet forums talking about this problem. My 2000 F-150 5.4 is at 235,500 miles, and I did this about 20,000 miles ago. There is also a recommendation to replace the tube that goes to teh back of the waterpump while you have the intake manifold off, but I couldn't figure how to disconnect it easily so I skipped that step. Knock wood...

Right, -very common problem with those composites. Search the engine forum only, -under tools for , manifold cracked or leaking. You should be able to find some good picks from others.
