injectors...PLUGS/COP's

I am ready to throw in the towel....I have been reading posts about changing the injectors....I have an 04 5.4 that I have changed COP's and plugs on - and still having issues with truck surging when accelerating and every now and then a code for circuit malfunction on a certain coil. I talked to a shop and they mentioned changing out the injectors...so I have been researching that - just looking for more opinions.

Also, why are the 05 injectors $24 and the 04 ones $75??

the plugs are motorcraft and the cop's are bwd from o'reillys ..... thanks guys

Try Rock Auto for injectors. I read yesterday in 2004+ model section that someone purchased injectors from Rock, reasonably priced. Not sure what year he purchased for. Seems like to me 04 + should be the same for the 3 valve.

For coils, -I'd purchase 511's from Global.

I had coils from global...they failed -same issue as this one - thats why i have such a hard time believing that some of my second set of coils (different brand) have also failed.

How it is with coils ~ It doesn't seem to matter where/who you get them from, there's always that chance of getting bad ones or coils that are lacking. With COP systems, they're all made the same. It sucks that you can't trust even one supplier. Motorcrafts are generally the most expensive, but just like every other supplier, they can't get away from bad or weak coils, -right out of the box.

In my case, I've had bad luck with Motorcraft coils and good luck with Global coils. From all the posts I've seen, after purchasing a new coil, you have about a 75% chance that it's good and will last. Sad, but that's the way I see it.

So, I guess that means you looked up the injectors @ Rock, or what ?

What cylinder are you getting the code on? Swap the injector on that cylinder with one of the others and see if the code changes. If not, your injectors do not need replacement.

No Problem, yea don't worry about the other letters/numbers. More less origin and revision. The center set is the part.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say I think the 05 price is a typo. I find it kind of hard to believe the Standard is more expensive than the Motorcraft. Buy your injector quick, before the price changes.

The 9F593 is the base #, tells what type of part it is. The Prefix tells what type of vehicle it fits. The suffix is revision. The 3L3Z-9F593-DA does NOT interchange into the 5C3Z-9F593-DC. The 3L3Z-9D593-DA is for 2004 only with a build date of 6/2/03 to 8/22/04. The 5C3Z-9F593-DC is for 2005-07 with a build date of 8/23/04 to 12/2/06.

That doesn't just tell "Type". dixiefishing, - trust me, you'll be alright w/cheaper Motorcraft units. "SAME lb" injectors/like I said, = SAME part. No need to spend $75 per injector, I don't care what anyone says...
