Well poop. I decided to go with the 32V 5.4. I ordered the long block. I found a used intake with everything intact, including the engine harness, main harness and PCM. they all came from a 2003. Unfortunately, it appears that it was in a crossover period or something because the engine harness and PCM have mating connectors that are not like those on my 98 F150. From the PCM part number I can verify that they came off of a 2003, but there is not a J3 connector on the PCM so I think it must be EEC-VI. Funny thing is it has the same hardware code, catch code and strategy as a known PCM of the same year that is EEC-V. Weird that they would use the same internals (nearly?) in two PCMs of the same year with different EEC versions. Anyway, it's the harness I'm after... should I try to find a pinout of the EEC-VI connectors and rewire the PCM connectors on the harness or try and find an early harness (2002 maybe) to go on the intake? (Presuming a 2002 harness will go on a 2003 intake). Thoughts y'all?
