Switch to syn or not?

So I was thinking of switching my 2006 FX4 5.4 to synthetic.
I've got 50k on the clock.

Is this a good idea, bad idea?

What do you think??

Both types of oils get the job done. I run synthetic because of the abuse I put my engine through.

You'll be fine with syn. Ford recommends Motorcraft 5w 20 synthetic for the Triton engines. Its cheaper to buy at Walmart including filter.

I use the motorcraft 5w20 in my truck. But i'm pretty sure it's only a synthetic blend.

It's a synthetic blend but it's as good as most so-called "synthetics".

Your choice, you've may already be running a synthetic blend. I just think you need a good reason to switch. Maybe you want to extend your oil drain interval?

Castrol synthetic is not synthetic but a group III dino oil, just like Mobil 1, and most of the rest.
Amsoil is a PAO synthetic if you really want synthetic.
