Question switch a 2002 v/6 to a 91 302 v/8?

I have a 2002 short bed f150 5sp... it has a v/6, I have a 91 f150 with a 302 auto in it... could I swap the v/8 out of the 91 great engine low mileage to the 02 and hook it up to the standard tranny?? v/6 runs great, but need a little more power when pulling my boat to the lake....... thanks......

The 302 V8 doesn't have much more hp & trq over the 4.2 V6. Not worth swapping at all. Look into custom tuning the V6 and re-gearing to a more suitable ratio. That will help big time with towing your boat.

HP/TQ on your 302 is 185/270 and your 4.2 is 202/252. I call that a wash. Regear your truck and get a programmer with tunes.

sure thing, do a bunch of work, lose power, lose your ability to legally register the truck sounds like a winning situation to me
