cheep code pulling tool

Wondering if anyone has advice on a code pulling tool.
What do I need to look for? I see they range in price from like $50 to $500.

I just want something simple to pull codes and clear them so I dont have to go to orielly and borrow the tool all the time. I live $30 miles from them. I dont need to store them, I can write them down. I dont need them to tell me what they mean, I can look that up. What I want is to make sure I get something that can pull them all. Some say things like "pulls Factory codes as well as generic codes" or something. Dont they all? Or is that an added thing I need to look for?

Any thoughts or opinions would be great. Thank you.

Go find you a used Edge for 250 or so.
This way you would be able to tune your truck as well as have a code reader.
That what I did for my 2001 F150

Yea, you just need a simple scanner, 50 - 80 bucks. Sears Hardware has them, Harbor Freight has them and their probably the cheapest. Sears has the Actron -

I got a cheap one, without abs capability, and then I got an abs fault, so I ended buying a second abs only one. I guess it's nice if one goes bad, that I'll have the other capability, but just means more space in the toolbox.

Harbor Freight could be your friend. Bought my OBD2 scanner YEARS ago for $45 there and I still use it today.

Think I am going to go with the harbor Freight Tools one. it seems cheapest for the features, and has good reviews.
