Hello,, I changed my plugs finally,truck has 83,000 on them..Runs alot smoother now,but I still get that stumble/vibration when going about 55-60 geting on the gas to make it come out of Overdrive only. Had only 2 plugs come out in one piece, good thing a bought the Lisle tool 65600,,it works great. I have never had a CEL ,,had checked none were stored. Some have told me that it is a COP with a less fire power but enough to keep cel off ? How do you check these cop? I did use delectrical grease and anti-seze ,,,,Thanks

 

That i know of, there is no way to check the cops to see if they're bad but i could be wrong.. The only way i knew one of mine was bad, is that it started out a small misfire with no cel then eventually threw a code and cel went on so i read it and it was a misfire of cyl #? (i cant remember) After i replaced it, all was well....Hope this helps. All of this was on a 01 2v 5.4 though.

I don't remember where I read it, but I recently read that sometimes it's just a bad boot and sometimes it is the entire COP. Please note that I was reading this about the 97-03 models and don't have a clue whether it will apply to the 04.

 

Thanks alot,,I cheched the boots pretty good but you never know. I will wait a little longer to see if I get a CEL,,,looks like a good deal on those on ebay,,,thanks alot !!!
