engine swap info

Can i use a 2008 f150 4.6 romeo in my 98 f150 i have a romeo but i dont know how much is involved and if it can even be done. Does any one know how many things that would need to be changed? can it be done easy?

2008 in you 1998? lets see.

the motor. all the wiring the computer the trans all the wireing for the trans. theres alot of diff. bettween a 2008 motor and 1998.

just get a PI 99 or 2000 that would be alot easyer and you can reuse your trans and computer i think? im prob wrong.

but i think the PI swap would be easyer thats for sure.

trans has to be changed too?I thought all 4.6 romeo's have same bell housing?

in the same gen. 97-03 is same gen 04-08 is different. they have a 4R75E or some diff. trans.

If it's a 2 valve motor then it'll be a fairly easy swap, just keep your NPI intake and the run the adapter plates, swap oil pan and accessories and be done

i will also have to use all my sensors off old motor too? yes its a 2 valve engine.

they did change the trans, BUT the 4r70 and 4r75 can operate off of the same ECM

YES, swap everything over, just to make it easier (and while it's all apart is the perfect time to change the o2 sensors and stuff
