2003 F150 batttery light on
My 2003 F150 battery light comes on. It stays on for a while then all my gauges drop to zero and then the truck eventually stalls.
As soon as I boost it the truck runs fine for a day or so then does it again.
I checked the voltage on the battery with the truck running with the battery light off and I get 14.34 volts.
I haven't checked the voltage with the battery light on because it happens while I'm driving and never when I start it.
Can this be the alternator or something else.
I checked and cleaned the starter connection but it still does it.

Yes, it can be the alternator. It can also be the battery. Take it over to a parts store for a free check, they can do basic battery and alternator tests in the parking lot without pulling them.
Sounds like the alternator is breaking down as it gets hot. That would be my first guess. Otherwise I'd be looking for a poor connection that is reacting to heat or vibration...the only connectors that could be suspect though are the ones on the alternator itself and the ones at the other end of the alternator harness near the firewall at the mega fuses.
