Installing Underdrive pulleys

I have the fan and shroud off and the belt. I have put on the water pump pulley and also the alternator pulley, lastly im going to do the crankshaft pulley, but i have a ?. How do you remove the 18mm bolt through the middle of the pulley? every time i try to turn it it just moves my whole truck and wont break the bolt loose. My truck is a 5 speed with the 4.6. Any help would be awesome, Thanks!

I use an air impact to get those off.. with a 5 speed you should be able to put it in gear set the park brake and use a breaker bar.

Yeah that's what i did, i put it in gear and set the parking break and also used a breaker bar but no movement earlier on today, i can practically move my truck by turning it but not the bolt. gonna try an air impact tomorrow.

Have someone press the brake pedal....... if you do not have an assistant put it in 4th. The torque required to turn the wheels in 4th is greater than in 1st.

Got the crankshaft pulley off, and have the alternator pulley and water pump pulley reinstalled. As for the crankshaft pulley, is it really necessary to have the old crankshaft pulley ride piggy back to me new one? My kit is a BBK.

i thought my kit crank pulleys were to be piggy backed also, but if the new crank pulley is like a dampner then you shouldnt have to piggy back them. i had a set and didnt piggy back them. workin fine! all else fails call bbk!
