ya and the money disappear faster than I can make it!

The truck sopposedly has 55K on it but its been sitting, do you guys think I should swap the plugs since they are relatively easy to get to right now? And just knowing where I stand so hopefully there is less chance of a blowout. Also I just towed it a couple hundred miles in the rain without the front clip so I worried that is gonna cause the cop's to go crazy.

are the plugs in a 2000 5.4L the same motorcraft SP-493 that I put in my 4.6l last year?

I am going to start by changing all the fluids, maybe the plugs, get a battery and everything plugged back in, and then see if she fires & drives.

The plugs are going to be SP-479 gapped to .54. And I would change them, retorqued to 28ft/lb with no antiseize. While your in there, a little squirt of oil in each cylinder would be good. Be careful not to get any on the threads or torque specs will not be correct. I used an oil pump can with a long neck to reach down in there. If the coils got wet, could be a concern later on, or premature failure. Probably worth picking up a set just for reassurance. When its ready to fire up, hold the gas at WOT (shuts the injectors off) for a few good turns to build oil pressure and get things moving again. Then start it like normal. Also pick up a new motorcraft pcv valve, drive belt and other small cheap items etc.. IF it has been sitting a real long time, get some fresh gas in there with a new fuel filter, keep the old filter on there for the first start up with new gas to maybe pick up any of the old bad gas or debri. After its ran for a bit, change it out. I had issues with dirty gummed up injectors on mine since it sat for so long, you may also have that problem.

ya I was thinking about cheaping out because the truck really wont be driven for several months to a year so I will probably wait on the belt and stuff, but I do want to put a little bit of oil in the cylinders so I will prob do plugs, and a couple little things but wait on the belt and stuff like that. It does not have a stock tank and will be running a fuel cell down the road so we will have to come up with something for the fuel pump.

I have everything coming, I ordered: motorcraft plugs, pcv, iat, goodyear belt, a set of global COP's, as well as electric parts cleaner, di-electric grease, etc. However unfortuneately there was sopposed to be a holley external fuel pump with the truck but its missing so I need to figure out the best option for a fuel pump. This truck will get a fuel cell so Im prob going to stay away from an internal pump I think so just need to figure that out and get a battery and hopefully it will be running once I get all the parts.

ya for sure, the plan is to work on it all day tuesday, I need to change the plugs, put the intake back on, hook up all the electrical stuff, a battery, and figure out a fuel pump setup and hopefully it will be a runner! Doesnt sound like much but it will prob take most of the day. If I get it running Im gonna unload it off the trailer and try to drive it around the block

nice! Ya Id love some more help, theres a few projects were gonna have to tackle, temp fuel setup, plugs, putting the computer back in and making sure all the electrical is hooked up right (my buddy mike is pretty good with this stuff and coming over to help) but another set of eyes that is more familiar with f150's would def be cool, you are def more than welcome to head over, well just be wrenching most of the day as long as its not raining, if it is I will prob try to squeeze it in the garage one way or another. Anyway Ill send ya a PM with my info.
