Redline for a '09 5.4 w/ 6R80E???

Now that I have my custom tunes for my CTS working, I noticed that I have hit 5654 RPMs when doing a 0-60 test. (It is nice that the unit records the max RPMs). I had my rev limiter set to 5650, which I need to bump up a little. Much to my surprise, I cannot find any information on my redline. I see that the older 4 speed transmission torque converter had issues above 5600, but since the 2009 4.6 3V engine doesn't hit max HP until 5700 and uses the same transmission, I assume that my transmission doesn't have any problems below at least 5800 RPM. I plan to set my rev limiter to 5750 and expect that I will never exceed 5700 RPM.

Does anyone have data on the redline for my truck?

Thanks!

The engine should be good to about 6500, but the torque converter may be the limiting factor. However, it's my understanding that the 2011 3.7 V-6 shifts at 7000 RPM at WOT and it uses a 6 speed auto.

Thanks for your thoughts here. I agree that the engine likely won't have any problems, especially for short durations, into the 6K range. I was hoping that someone knew the redline (as specified by Ford) for my 5.4 and torque converter.

Does anyone know if the transmission (and especially the torque converter) are the same between the '09 5.4 and other 6R80E configurations (such as the one referenced above)? If they are, then I have no concerns setting my rev limiter to 5900 or so.

Had to remove your second thread as only one per subject is allowed. I think you have it in the correct florum, but if you want it moved, just PM me.
