Fuel filter change
2001 f150 5.4 . Does it take some kind of tool to get it off ? Thanks. It's the one on the frame.

You could use the search feature and you would find that yes you do need a tool. There are 3-4 different kinds my personal preference is the plastic round ones. You slide it inside and push the filter deeper into the fuel line then it releases.

Yea, hit it w/penetrating solvent first. So the spring clamp moves. If you have a Fram filter on there, good luck getting that removed. A Motorcraft filter should come undone fairly easily. The Frams have a heavier lip which makes it a PITA. I use an oil line disconnect, I can't recall the size, 5/16 maybe ?

3/8 worked for me nicely.
