how involved to swap a triton for a Windsor

I have a 351W out of my old 86 F250 and I was thinking of giving it a nice rebuild if it was a possible and not super costly to swap out the 5.4 for it.

Has anyone swaped out a modular for a pushrod engine before? The truck is a 2000 F150 extended cab.

More hassle then its worth really. New trans, new mounts and all new wiring for the engine, trans and accessory's. Way easier to swap in a used or rebuilt modular engine.

depends on what you want to achieve, how much work you do yourself and how thrifty you shop.

I’ve been playing in the mod motor field for awhile now, I currently have a 700rwhp 03 Cobra and it took quite a bit more then a few grand to make 700 hp. You will need a power adder, fuel system and appropriate items to support this. If you have a method to achieve this SAFELY for a few grand, please I am all ears.

My only reason for thinking of going to a pushrod motor was cost to make a high HP p-r motor is less then a mod motor but I understand adapting it to the truck will outweigh the cost savings from the motor build.
