Part interchangeability years?

I have a 97. In what year was F150 substantially redesigned after 97? I just want to get some general idea about part interchangeability.
Thanks.

Fords have never been like other manufactures that priorities part interchangeability. Depends on the part and all but there are some parts on a 97 4.6 that wont interchange with another 97 4.6 (flex plate comes to mind)..

I mean parts in general like body parts, suspension, engine, brake, etc. I know 1997 is the first year F150 was redesigned.

I have a 2005 Ford Taurus. Ford redesigned it in 2000. When I go to a junk yard for a part, I will check only 2000-2006.

I wonder if the same holds true for F150. Or are trucks less frequently redesigned than sedans?

EDIT: Now I see what "Go back to the main forum list & scroll down...." means. 1997-2003, 2004-2008. Thank you for the answer.
