Hello all , I am wondering if you can give me some feed back..
I have a 2005 F150 with a 5.4 70,000m
I have had the engine give me a service engine light appearing .when scanned it showed the 0345 and 0349 codes .the first time this happened was when the truck was in low range trying to get out of a ditch, when shifting between forward and reverse the engine went into an extremely rough idle and stalled. ( sounds like diesel stalling out) It has now increased in frequency , when the engine is warm and typically when slowing down for a stop light etc. If I slip it into neutral it will almost always instantly quit and resume a normal idle. At high rpm I have good power and runs well. I have had it at the dealer and they want to replace all timing gears , guides ,tensioners , phasers etc. but wouldn't or couldn't pin point the issue.
What I am wondering is what other opinions are out there.
