Low End Power is Gone...
That probably sounds good as far as that goes, - just "sound". But, the Flowmaster is a chambered exhaust that robs torque, considerably. I tested this myself and Mike Troyer has some real good explanations WHY the Flowmasters get the name "Slowbastids". These articles can be found in the Superchips/tuning forum on this site. Troyer is the go to guy for the F150, - at least he use to be lol. He personally helped me save my transmission from an early grave lol.
Anyway, here's the tests I've done myself. You can time these run with your computer clock to see the difference. It's about 6 seconds, - Headers/Magnaflow vs. Flowmaster.

Yea, big difference, as said lol.
It doesn't sound all that bad. I did like the Flowmaster sound a little better, but was more impressed with the difference in torque and power.
This is the Factory tune as well. -

Your truck has 25 horse and more torque than mine too, I think I mentioned that before lol.
Anyway, get that exhaust right and won't regret it. Custom tune with LT's and you'll kick yourself for not doing this in the first place

The brake dragging situation is going to be looked at tomorrow morning at 7:30a. Going to put the truck on the lift and check all wheels and pull the rear rotors to see whats going on with the E-brakes behind them.
If that doesn't reveal any major problems, the truck is going to Ford for diagnostics.

I went driving last night to try and nail down exactly what the engine is doing in the lower RPMs. It almost felt like the truck was upshifting too early around 30mph causing it to bog. The bad area in the RPMs is between 1500 and 1800 RPMs.
At this point I don't really think its the brakes - that was a long shot at best. I am not paying to have them checked - the shop that did the work is doing it at no charge for my peace of mind.

Anyway, my truck went from feeling like a heavy slug, to feeling like it just lost 2000 lbs lol.
I'm not sure which made the difference, injectors or coils, -most likely both. The point is, just updating/replacing those parts with new, brought her back. Are injectors each have their own individual filters. Coil windings shear over time. Injectors won't show bad unless you get complete failure and coils don't show bad until you start misfiring. Both can be lacking tho.
That was years ago and since, I have everything updated. She runs awesome @ 272,000 miles.

Uknow, my truck felt like a slug at one time, at about 185,000. I found new injectors from a crate motor on ebay for sale $60, - and from the same person I purchased coils that were new, - just take offs, so he couldn't sell them as new. Those were $60 as well.

Yea, I might be repeating a few things lol. I get asked the same questions quite a bit in PM's. Yea, I went everything on the 98. Finished two years ago with gutting the brake system, -replaced everything , even the hard lines since they were simple to make. Final task, cutting out the body panels and welding new back in. Sucks, I hate body work and I'm only fricken 1/2 way finished, but they should be good for another 1/4 million miles when finished.
These trucks will last a long damn time, - or I DEFINITELY would not be doing the body work.
Good Luck.

It's going to Ford first thing in the morning so hopefully they will know something by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. The shop foreman is a good friend of mine, and the guy who normally works on my truck; so he is trying to get it done as quick as possible so I don't end up with a massive bill from the shop for hours spent on diagnostics.
