97 won't start after running out of gas

Drove the truck home with very little fuel left, left it in the driveway. Go out later to start it up and nothing. Put a few gallons in (a little over 1/4 a tank), still nothing. I know it isn't wise to be running it on such low fuel, but I figured I could get to the gas station (1/4mi away) no problem. Guess I was wrong. Any ideas on what the problem might be? I'm hoping it isn't the fuel pump, but I'm beginning to suspect it is.

Thanks,
- B

Injectors need to re-prime. During which, you'll over pressurize and shut the rail down. So, 3 cranks/ bleed the shrader/ 3 cranks/ bleed the shrader. If that doesn't work, let it set for a couple hours, then start. She'll fire right up.

Can you hear the fuel pump kicking on? you may have fried the pump from running the tank that low

Hopefully it's not the pump.

When you run the tank way down low on your '97, about 13 years of sediment in the bottom gets sent to your filter.

So you may have clogged the fuel filter.
