lets try another question Harley davidson 5.4 go into...

will a F-150 HD supercharged, 5.4 2003 model, work in a 2002 F-150 4x4 with out any obscene computer problems??? I wouldnt mind having to spend a few hundred on a new tune or some computer work....if it is a common problem a local guy could do.

sorry for all the new questions...really sorting my options on getting a new -rebuild-used motor into my truck before winter

thanks

bob

I went and did some searches after I posted...

the motor is complete with tranny at 55,000 miles...

I already read that the tranny wont work with my 4x4..with out major mods

i dont know if any other parts from the truck would be available

its time to replace or rebuild my motor...but i dont want it to take months..

I need to get my replacement motor all ready to go when i start to yank out the current motor....which is still running good, but long in the tooth at 200K

I dont really need 380hp...but i certainly want more than 300...mine now has 260 or 270 ..cant remember

it really needs more

the HD package looks attractive

if it is a NOT SO HARD sawp.... the computer -wiring harness issues are what worries me to death...

mechaincally i can figure most stuff.. and i can cut and weld and machine almost anything I need to...but electrically I am a bozo... one!!
thanks bob

you can run the '02-'03 supercharged harley truck motor (same as a lightning motor) without the lightning/harley truck ECM, to your 4r70 transmission and since you'll need a tune anyway you might as well keep your cost to a minimum

and the N/A wiring harness is easiest to use for the swap
