2004 Screw 4x4 ECT question

Engine light on.

Got error P0119. Engine coolant temp sensor. circuit intermittent or erratic condition.

probable cause: Poor electrical connection. Open or short circuit. Faulty ECT sensor.

Where in the world is this thing located? Hopefully the connection just came loose?

Thanks

You don't have an ECT sensor, it's a CHT (cylinder head temp). It's under the intake manifold, the manifold must be removed to get at it.

Any DIY steps or pictures anywhere?

When I try & start the truck, it reacts as if there is a short. Dash lights and gauges flicker.

Not sure if that is how a faulty Sensor will react or not.

Your battery may be on its way out.

Would battery cause the CEL and that code? Or is it 2 different issues that happen to begin at same time?

The battery can cause weird things happening with the cluster. I'd charge it and get it load tested.
