Help:
My 1988 F150 302 XLT has what I believe is a shake or shimmy,
I cannot tell if it is a miss or something out of balance.
When I am in second or third (auto) it starts to shake not all the time but when it does it shakes very bad! So I either speed up or slow way down (speeding up it goes right away). I have put it in netural when the shake starts and the engine sounds fine the shake is a lessen but still their. So I’am thinking a motor mount u-joint or something in the transmission .

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

have you looked at yer damper? those things go bad on those engines and when they do they make a racket.

 

There is not much noise, but more shakeing I will check the damper out just to be sure
