Changing plugs

Hi everyone, I am planning on changing plugs in a 2001 4.6 L as it has 250,000 km. on it and has never been done. It is my old work truck that i bought after i got a new one and I have not changed them before on the newer style with what i think they call the COP. So basically can someone give me a little instruction on how to do it, or is this going to be a nightmare. I don't really want to take it into the dealer because of the mileage on it. Thanks for any response.

I have read on this forum a problem with the spark plugs breaking. Is that a common problem ?

The breakage problem is for 2004-early 2008 with the 5.4 3v, so no, you don't have that worry. You just need to torque to 28 ft/lbs with no antisieze, to help resist the plug blow out.

Well,, you are in for some fun then! Actually, it is not as bad as it once was. Do the research, follow the TSB and have the Lisle tool ready just in case. Or, do like I did and take it to a dealer that knows what they are doing and is fair about it. There is a lot to read on here, when you are ready.
