I bet you $20 the coil doesn't fix your problem.

 

Mine is an 05 too and i know my injectors can leak every once in a while, due to the fuel smell. Already tried to have the dealer take care of it but they acted like the injectors were fine.

Is there anything i can do?

 

Yes. Wait for it to fail, or have new injectors installed so it won't fail. Ticking time bomb.

2005 5.4 3V, runs rough, smell gas, I'd feel pretty good saying you've got an injector hanging up.

 

Well thats what I thought at first but he installed a new coil on #6 and it runs fine right now. Im goin to change the plugs real soon though. Ill keep yall updated.

 

well you were right Quintin I dont smell gas anymore but it runs rough at idle, and hard starts again and the CEL is back on. I swear im getting tired of this already. Whats goin on now yall think?

 

Did you have the injectors replaced ? Their warrantied for 100,000 miles I believe. For the 05's only.

 

no I havent had them replaced I wish I knew if it was for sure the injectors Id hate to take it to Ford and that not be it becuase they would run me through the cleaners. Truck has 76k miles

 

Pulled a DTC code with the edge yet? Mine never threw a CEL but I read a DTC code with the edge.

 

Yea, I'm not sure how they work that. I would call and inquire for sure. Tell them you know of the warranty and the 05 injector TSB (problems). A good dealership will phone you first if there's another issue.
