egr nipple into the manifold

I got a 2000 f150 4.6 v8 and my lower egr tube nut rusted right off. I have a new egr tube and nipple that goes into the manifold but does anyone know if that nipple is a part of the manifold itself on the 2000 model or will it just take some hard work to get that nipple out of the manifold?
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the 4.6L but on the 5.4L the nipple is threaded into the manifold. Should come out. Not sure how bad yours rusted out but doesn't sound like it will hold a wrench very well if its that brittle. Might just take some time, try heat it up with a torch and soak it in pb blaster before your first try to turn it. Don't start a fire though

If its the same as the 5.4L like this

It is threaded into the manifold

Thanks Toyz,
It looks exactly like that, but upon closer inspection and feel it seemed like she was just welded on there. The lower egr nut that screws into the nipple was just rusted right out and the threads on the nipple where the nut screws into were so heavily worn from corrosion that there was no thread left. What i did for a fix until i can get some more time is wrap a lead sheet around the joint and put a high heat sealer in it with 2 screw clamps to create as much of a seal as i can. Anyone think thats a really bad no no?
I should take pictures and post em.

All I've done is wrap some stiff wire around the EGR tube and around the manifold, pulled tight and wrapped some more. Works good!

ooOO, didn't even catch that lol. Hope none got down into your cat.
Junk yard should have some manifolds for around $20, might be better just to replace it.

i took some furnace cement, aluminum tape and hose clamps, put a little cement on the tape wrapped the tube, wrapped it with just the aluminum tape and then tightened two hose clamps around it and it hasn't opened up in three years and i planned on getting a new one but my fix is working well enough. don't get any cement in your egr tho, you probably dont even need it, i just thought it would be more air tight. it smells funny for a few days tho

its a little tight for mechanics wire and a twister, so i used hose clamps, but that tape has not melted yet.

I think it would trigger the CEL to come on and spit out a code. Is yours not connected and not spitting out a code?
