Steam clean engine bay.

hello, I want to get my 08 FX4 engine bay steam cleaned, local detail shop said they can do it but some times with the fords they have issues with blowing out a coil pack, has anyone out there experienced this?? How would be a good way of preventing this?? and if it does occur what am i looking at to get it fixed? Again i am looking to the f150 online gods for info. Thanx for listening.

Todd

Ditto. Use aluminum foil to wrap the components you want to protect. It will stay in place during the cleaning.

Afterward, if you want to help keep the bay clean, wax any painted surfaces under the hood to reduce dust/dirt build up. Use 303 Protectant/Armor-All in the rubber hoses and plastic cowling, etc. Some CRC Corrosion Protector on the intake manifold keeps it from corroding and getting grody-looking.
