Junior - I was not questioning your judgment - just noting the fact that getting one now at $189 - especially since they are allegedly back ordered- and having it if needed, would be cheaper than waiting for it to fail and leave me stranded. Caught in your position, I'd have done the same thing.

truck cranks won't start

my 2000 XLT runs great but it is doing the same thing. replaced fuel filter- no help. dealer checked fuel pump and it is fine. it always does this on short trips to store etc. come back out and it cranks over fine but will not start. after about a half hour it suddenly starts just fine. the truck runs great otherwise.

mechanic can't figure it out either. but after looking at these online chats about the problem i think i may have found what it is- Fuel Pump Driver Module located near the spare tire will cause the truck to randomly not get gas. also rarely it will stall in traffic. anyone try replacing the Fuel Pump Driver Module? if so, did it cure the problem.

nothing else has worked and my mechanic is out of ideas.
