Noisy engine - fixed!

I have an '01 Harley-Davidson Supercrew 5.4L with 238,000 miles.

It uses less than 1/2 qt of oil between oil changes, have been using Valvoline 5W-20 synthetic oil since new.

A couple of months ago I started hearing a whining noise coming from the engine. At first I thought it was the alternator or the tensioner pulleys on the serpentine belt, but after taking the serpentine belt loose and cranking the engine, I determined the noise was coming from under the passenger side valve cover...

I pulled the right valve cover (a nasty job) to confirm, and there was slack in the timing chain, so I took it to the Ford dealer where I bought the truck (Covert Austin) and had the timing chains, gears, tensioners, and guides replaced.

1st major maintenance made on this truck - total cost $1,400.00
