Yea, I can't PM you, but I sent you some info to your "personal" email maybe? I'm not sure where it went, let me know if you got it. The message went to which ever email you provided when you joined the site. Yea, you can't PM yet either (I don't think).

Anyway, there's an 03 (real low miles) for yuh, if you want it. From a good source, - trustworthy, -I know him. I'll send you the sellers contact info.

No idea what the price tag is on it, but I bet you won't find a better deal anywhere. Good guy, real cool about cost.

Check your mail.

Uh, yeah, right. So from this we're to believe that 2001 1/2 through present is okay? I have a 2007 4.6 that started leaking from the passenger side today. 50k miles on this truck.

Uh , yeah right. - If you believed that, I would say you have screw or two loose. Hell, I think you do anyway , - just for implying what you did.. I Know I wouldn't have said their okay lol. I gave the facts , - Manifolds were upgraded. That's it buddy, get yours straight.

Who knows how you've been treating your truck. Doesn't sound to good IMO.

My 2000 F150 5.4 leaked there also. I thought it was the gasket ("O" ring) but the plastic intake manifold at that location was broken. I replaced the whole intake manfold ($250) which came with new gaskets, etc. All ok. And I did it myself. It took me 5 hours, not 3.5 hours my friends said it would take. But I took my time and cleaned things as I went.

The 3 valve engine has a metal crossover and a plastic intake. Two different pieces so if one leaks the other is not affected. The all metal intake for the 2 valve head is getting harder to find and there is no such thing as metal 04+ 2 valve engine intake. Edlebrock makes an all metal universal intake for EFI that fits the 4.6 but nothing for the 5.4. And don,t forget the legal shìt: Not legal for sale or use on pollution controlled motor vehicles.

The mid-2001 redesign didn't fix the problem. I have an '07 with the same leak.

will a 99 5.4 aluminum intake fit a 2000?

If you need a replacement, go for the 99 (F150 ONLY) or 03 manifolds, if you can find one. The 99's are Aluminum, the 03's are composite, but supposedly, Ford upgraded the composite formulation (it's stronger). I don't have data confirming that, but have heard about it here and there.
I just found a used 99 aluminum intake and am about to swap out my leaky 00 plastic one. Will everything fit correctly? It looks like the heater core tub comes off the back on the al one and the front of the plastic one. Is there any other issues with the fuel rail and injectors? Did I just waste my money on the 99 manifold?

thanks,

Chris

It will bolt right up. Just grab the heater hose from the 99. I am running my 99 intake mani on the my newer installed motor (00) No other differences that I remember. As long as you have the heater hose from the 99, fits just fine. Do yourself a favor and make sure you get a new set of gaskets. I believe there are some updated intake mani gaskets. I didnt have or havent had any issues with the felpro set I picked up.

Water crossover set

I know this is an old thread but I have the same problem. I picked up the gasket set today and will do the job tomorrow. The crossover gasket set is Felpro ES71213 for the 5.4l Triton 00-06

Probably you need an intake manifold. Dont take those gaskets out of the boz or open it. Your gonna have to take them back probably. The doorman intake has the gaskets built into the manifold.
