03 FX4 slight "shake" at warm idle

Just picked up my first full size It's a 03 FX4 with 78k on the clock and I love it. One issue I have is when the truck is fully warm, and I come to a stop it has a very slight "shake". Now I dont know if this is normal or what the deal is. My dad has a 05 FX4 and his truck does NOT shake at all. All the service has been done for the milage. I know Ford says change plugs at 100k but my first thought was change the plugs. I would go do that but the dealer wants like $300.00 to replace them and im not ready to dump that yet if I dont have to.

Any idea's?

replace the yourself. Get them at rock auto for 2.99. Use motorcraft replacements.

I hear they break off easy and I don't have the tools to fix it if that happens.

not in the 97-03, the breaking is for 04-08. just don't over torque them and use MotorCraft

So can assume this "shake" is due to the plugs being bad then?

Might be a coil on plug going on you too, but start with the cheap easy stuff first. Plugs! Just remember not to lose the coil on plug bolts! Just changed my plugs on the weekend and lost, of course, the last one somewhere. Luckily I found a spare. IAC AND MAF cleaning is always a good idea as mentioned.

forgot to ad dont use antiseize, and torque to 28 ft/lb. get it as close as you can to 28ft/Ib to tight and risk stripping it to loose and get ready for take off, dont mean to scare but it can be tricky.

good luck, let us know how it worked out
