De-Carb Process

Spoke to Towneast Ford in Mesquite, TX about changing my plugs at 50k. He quoted me $199 for the tune up and $200 for a De-Carb process that basically is (2) fuel system clean outs that they recommend before changing the plugs. He told me it helps the plugs come out.

Questions:
1. At 50k, do any of you really think there will be a problem getting the plugs out if I dont do the De-Carb process? I run mid grade fuel with additive every 2 tanks. Most of my miles are highway.
2. Is the $200 worth it for the De-carb process?

I know we beat this topic to death but your input is appreciated.

A properly trained Dealer service department should always be able to remove the plugs. Are we talking a Motovac service? its been reported here that is worth the money. If it were me I'd wait tell 75k or so. If it makes you feel better do it now though.

Had the plugs changed Friday. No issues. There was some build up on 2 of the plugs. Not sure which ones they were.

At least I know now that I can probably stretch the next change to 75k.

Money well spent to know.

$200 is a bit steep for a Motorvac. The dealer did a BG job on mine a couple years ago for $85, same thing. $199 for a plug change on a 3v is a bargain, they are prolly trying to make up for that.

Depending on what BG service you're talking about, the BG and Motorvac services are not the same.
