4Wheel Drive WONT Engauge?

I have a 2006 F150 with the 5.4L engine. I am from SC and dont really use my four wheel drive that often. I do switch it into 4hi and 4low at least twice a month to keep componets lubercated. Last week we got about 6 inches of snow and I had to use my 4HI just a little bit on the dirt roads. Everything worked just fine and had no problems at all. Today (2-21-10) I was out scouting for turkeys and had to engauge my 4 wheel drive in some mud. Needless to say nothing happend. I stopped completly turned the switch to 4Hi and nothing happened. No lights, No sounds, and No signs of 4 wheel drive engauging. I checked all my fuses and nothing is blown. I also disconnected my battery and let sit for about 30min before reconnecting it and still nothing works.CAN ANYONE HELP!!!! Thanks Mark

You should have a motor on the transfercase with all of that snow it could have went bad. I have a 1999 f150 supercab 4x4 off road with the manual transfercase shifter i haven't ever had any trouble out of mine locking in

I dont really know anything about the 04+ trucks but the first thing I'd check is the vacuum system.

You might get a better response in the other powertrain section - the transfer case doesn't have anything to do with V-8 engines.
