successful plug change!!!!!
Changed plugs today and didn't break any. Broke plugs loose last night and filled the plug holes with carb and choke cleaner B12 Chemtool let em sit for an hour and turned em in and out about 1/8 turn and let them soak all night. This morning I turned em back and forth until they turned easy and backed em out no problem oh yea Its a 05 with 68000 miles.
That's the way, did my old lady's 06 Explorer this way. I used Kroil, let it sit 10 minutes on a warm engine. Removing them you could hear the rusty squeel but they got out ok, anti-seized the new ones, dielectric greased the boots and she's been great since. My bro was asking about this today with 20k miles, I said do it now before you can't remove them.
That's a good idea the way you soaked them with the B12 overnight. I changed mine in my 02' 5.4 last month and all of them broke loose easy except for one, and that had me cringing! Thankfully, it broke loose without breaking and I did like BLUE20004X4 said and anti-seized the new ones with dielectric in the COP boots. Sure isn't as easy as changing them in the old pushrod small blocks!
Kev, this thread is about the 3 valve plugs, which are a unique animal. Yours are totally different. These plugs are 2 piece with a ground barrel, which get stuck in the heads. Take a look at brokensparkplug.com, same guy who has blownoutsparkplug.com, who I referenced in the other thread you just posted in.

Changing plugs on these trucks wouldn't be that bad if you didn't have to prep for 3 weeks in advance and have your truck down for a day and a half. At least you don't have to take the fuel rail off on the 04-08s.
took me all of 3 hours to change mine. clearded all stuff in the way and sprayed down with wd-40. came back an hour later with none busted but the back 2 scared me a bit! 73,000 miles. i fealt lucky/blessed!!!
