2011 f-150 getting the coyote v8

the 5.4 3v will be replaced by the coyote 5.0 liter engine in the f-150.

tuning is supposed to be 400lb-ft and 350hp. its a truck so powerband is taylored to that.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-coyote-v8.html

i know that article says 400hp but it isnt. of course bolt ons and tune will fix that. power of the 6.2l hurricane/boss in a 5.0 4v.

N/a is a term used when there are no power adders or forced induction(turbo,supercharger,nitrous).

So the Coyote is going to be a 4 valve while the Hurricane will be a 2 valve?

are these a variation of the modular motor that we have come to love or is it a new design? i would research it but i'm lazy.
nevermind found it on wiki. so it's the same as a 4.6L block just a bigger bore and stroke, with new heads if a read correctly.i might be buying a 2011 mustang.

The Coyote engine shares the same deck hight and bore spacing as the 4.6. and it uses independent variable cam timing. So the PCM can vary the intake and exhaust cam timing separately. The are building it at the Essex Engine plant in Windsor.

wonder what would happen if you put those heads on a 5.4L or better yet 6.2L
also read the comments on the article they think the 6.2L is a pushrod motor.

the 6.2 is a big block just like a 460. its overhead cam and 2 valves. it is absolutely NOT a pushrod engine. it is not intended for mass f-150 use. its a replacement for the 6.8 v10.

the coyote hp/torque levels are just shy of the 6.2.

6.2 = 409hp/425 tq
5.0 = 350hp/400tq in truck tune. (low end torque for pulling loads.)
5.0 = 412hp/390tq in car tune.

the 6.2 has 2 spark plugs and is a semi-hemi cylinder head very similar to a BOSS 427.

the 6.2 is expandable to 7 liters and more.

the coyote is a clean sheet engine that uses modular bore spacing and assembly line systems.
