White snot on the inside of my oil cap?

If I'm not misstaken isn't that a sign of water in my oil? I didn't have my phone handy or I would have taken a picture. It looked like a white snot on the inside of my oil cap. i checked the oil in the drain pan it looked normal (no white stuff). Is that a sign of a blown head gasket?

Yep short drive cycle. Engine doesn't get hot enough to evaporate all the condensation. Mine did it some time ago and I thought the same thing you did and posted it here and was told this also. Now I just take the scenic route if I go somewhere close. Haven't seen the 'snot' since.

A fresh PCV valve will help minimize it but if you do not drive long enough to boil of those condensables it will still occur.

Thanks for the heads up =) I'm happy that's all it is.

"snot" LOL... Sorry guys, that's what it looked like and for a lack of a better word that's what came to mind. Glad some of you got a kick out it =)
