2V or 3v Engine?
Got a 2008 4.6L in my Screw, and was looking at some towing info that indicated that depending on which 4.6L you had your capacity was different. My question is whether 2008's came with 2V or 3V motors, and how to tell which I have? The window sticker makes no mention. Any thoughts?

2V -
1997–2010 Ford F-Series, 248 hp (185 kW) and 294 lb·ft (399 N·m)
3V-
2009 Ford F-Series, 292 hp (218 kW) and 320 lb·ft (433 N·m)
I can't figure out why they kept the 4six 2 valve for 2009+. Not complaining, - is the 4.2 still available? So we have 4 engine options now in a basic 1/2 ton? - Not including the 6.2L.

That's right, you told me, but I know I said some where, that I would forget. I did scratch that down, but I cleaned my desk, - now I can't find anything
The 2v was kept around as a base engine to keep the price down and to compete in the gas mileage wars with the old 4 speed automatic. The 3v and 6 speed would have increased the price of the base truck too high to be able to compete with the other brands that still offer a V-6 and manual trans.
I test drove one with that tranny. Nice truck and all but as far as power and all it was unimpressive. Granted it wasnt broke in and all and they say programmers really wake those things up. In stock form the new trucks are pretty gutless IMO..
Yea, we'll have to see what a canned set of tunes do.

- I keep forgetting about that as well. That has to be nice.
