No, not dumb. But the days of "tune ups" are mostly over. These newer trucks "tune up" themselves all the time. But there are a few things that need to be replaced at specific mileages as preventative maintenance... Like the serpentine belt, trans fluid, spark plugs etc. So, the next appropriate question would be; How many miles are on your truck? What maintenance have you done already? Is it running good?

New plugs, air filter if dirty, oil change. Make sure all fluids are full; brake, coolant, power steering etc. Greese joints if havn't done within recommended milage, change plug wires as well. I would also put some injector cleaner in the fuel. Clean out your throttle body and mass flow meter. Stuff like that.

The plugs on the back of the motor are difficult to change. Use Motorcraft plugs. and yeah, i'd clean the MAF and throttle body. I don't think fuel filter has been mentioned yet.

The truck has 90,000 miles is runs great, but I don't know about any maintenance.

I personally wouldn't touch these components unless you have a problem. Your computer will let you know if any of these need servicing.(check engine light will come on) You can do more harm than good by pouring additives into your fuel and playing with the air metering and emmissions systems.

I agree with the other suggestions, plugs etc. I also like to change my trans fluid and filter every 100,000 or so too. (it'll shift smoother) Check your drive shaft u-joints, brakes, inspect and pack (or replace) the front wheel bearings (every time you do brake work), clean and grease caliper slide rails (every time you do brake work), change serpentine belt, inspect the PCV hose where it meets the back of the intake manifold, and look the entire truck over really good for anything unusual.

CEL does not illuminate for clogged fuel filters nor does it illuminate when 02's are working poorly only when they no longer work at all. Fuel filters are OEM recommended 40k change and 02's are recommended 100k. Both these items WILL make the engine run poorly if neglected.
I agree Most injectors cleaners are snake oil. Cleaning the throttle body WILL improve performance....

Yes it will. It will show lean due to lower fuel pressure. Unless you are dumping dirt in your tank they don't stop up anyway.

The computer monitors O2 switchrate and if the requested fuel trims (based on O2 info) doesn't jive (fairly close) with the MAF's air volume approximation, then it will also light the CEL.

If you have a performance problem..... I wouldn't risk breaking it or stripping out a bolt hole if its running good already!

I don't skip important maintenance that could potentially damage my truck. But I skip the stuff that is monitored by the computer, and wouldn't hurt or disable the truck if it failed. This is my humble opinion, however; so do what you will.

I drive my 2wd every winter in the snow. Not a problem. You just need to learn how to drive in snow. 140K on mine now. I do not go off road with it but I commute 55 miles a day.
