no throttle when cold

I have a 2009 Ford F150 5.4 v8 FX4 and I'm having a problem when I start the truck in cold weather I get an engine service light when it's idling however I get no throttle response. This continues for about 30-45 minutes and then the engine service light goes off and the truck runs normal. Ideas?

Thanks,

give us an idea of what "cold" is, right now here its 3*F.

09 is too new for me to help with, but i would suspect the servo that opens the throttle body since the 04+ use drive by wire, may be too cold or malfunctioning. I would honestly take it to the dealer and jump up and down about it if they try to skate around it.

The temp is around -5F to 10F. In addition, the temp gauge does not reflect any movement until 5-10 minutes after the engine service light is off. The truck shows normal operating temp 45-60 minutes after the truck is started.

plenty cold but not stupidly cold. perhaps a faulty t-stat on a brand new truck? sounds far fetched but possible. i still would recommend jumping up and down about warranty work
