Problem need help!

Hello all,
I am getting a whistling sound when i turn on my headlights from the engine. The sound is not present when the headlights are off and occurs whether the truck is moving or not. The whistle appears in the range of 1,000 to 2,000 rpm and then goes away when i am about 2,000 rpm. Also the sound is not there when i am going faster then 60. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you recently install anything?

Stereo, amps, lights, inverter, DVD system, stuff like that?

What you hear is an electrical interference, generally heard when wiring for the stereo doesn't have a great connection, or if the power and rca's are run on the same side of the vehicle.

Voltage reg unit or bearings on the alternator going out .. Get a short length of tube and have someone make the sound happend while sitting still and put the tube next to the alt... I swear it sounds just like what I heard on mine and then the alt died.. You can get a reman at Orielly for about 145.00 , I had mine rebuilt ( New reg and rectifier ) Cost 74.00...
