coolant leak

Is there someone on this board i can send 2 pictures to that can help me solve my problem. I can't seem to get pictures on this site so I want someone to tell me where the head is on a bolt that I need to tighten. I have a coolant leak on the passenger side of the engine right by the #1 injector. It is leaking between the engine and the crossover.I believe it is leaking because this bolt is not tight. It feeds from the bottom and doesn't stick up as much as the other one that feeds from the bottom.I thought it might be under the valve cover so I removed it and it is not there either. I hope someone can fix this. I have 282,000 and am now starting to have these little problems and i don't want to take it to a shop if i can fix it myself. Thanks for the help.

Yea, all you do is start a new album/ name it/save it/ add that URL to your favorites for a short cut/ save pics you want to upload to your desktop/ go to your album hit upload pics and then browse to your desktop/ hit open/ then up it.

The common crossover problem is due to a crack in the plastic. Usually the entire manifold needs replaced. Tightening will worsen the problem, if it's even possible. ?? I don't think so.

If the manifold is in good shape, then it's the front water jacket. The manifold gaskets go bad right there, - on both sides eventually.

Regardless, the manifold needs to pulled to inspect and you need to do this for the gaskets anyway. That's where your at right now IMO. You can clean it up and try to pinpoint the problem, but it's one of the two unless it's the hose.

Thanks. I don't see any plastic at the crossover. The reason I think it needs to be tightened is that the other bolt that feeds up sticks through the crossover about 3/16 but the back one where the leak is is flush. Any reason why ford has the bolts feeding both ways as opposed to all from the top? The dealer sold me the gaskets for each end when I showed him what I needed that's why I assumed I would be able to remove the crossover, replace the gaskets and be good as new.

5.4 Maybe I'm calling it the wrong name but it is, aluminum goes from one side of engine to other in front and the passenger side also has a port(?) that a hose attaches to that goes back to the heater core. I'll try to post the picture

Just sent it. Flbuilder1@hotmail.com.When you open it you can see the injector plug.Right in front of it you see just alittle of the end of the bolt that feeds from the bottom, I cannot find the head. That's were it's leaking.

Ok Kyle according to the pic you just send, its either the gasket to the water crossover that it totally worned or your intake manifold that is cracked. I would take off the water crossver first and check.

I understand that part. That is the problem. There is a bolt that I cannot remove. The one closest to the injector that feeds from the bottom i cannot find the head. If you go around the back of the crossover its not there or if it is I can't find it. I am able to get all the others off except that one. That is what is stopping me from changing the gaskets.

ok that bolt is already siezed in there due to coolant and rust. I would suggest removed the fuel rail and injectosand if possibly grind that part to remove it or pry it out carefully.
