Knocking/Popping Noise...

I'm getting a popping noise for about the first 30-55 seconds after I start my truck. After that it stops, but it only does it when I'm on the gas. If I press harder or gear down it speeds up, but if I take my foot off and coast, its not there. That takes the thought of it being in the power-train out. I'm gonna replace the PCV valve and see if it stops. Seems to be coming from the passenger side.

Any ideas??

Check your spark plugs, you may have a loose one getting ready to launch. Torque them to 28 ft/lb.

are you sure that the sound of coming from the motor and not somewhere else? the reason why im asking is that I had the same problem..... but it wasnt the motor it was the universal joints of the drive shaft..... its just me speaking out loud.... but if you cant find out the anwser for the problem then that could possibly be it.
