idleing problems

I have a 94 f150 that i just rescently rebuilt a engine for and when the timing was being set the guy messed with the ideling screw. I tried to fix it but i dont think i have it set right. What does it suppose to idle on a cold start and and after it has warmed up to operating temp. I know when i am driving it the rpms run around 1500 rpm and when im on interstate and running about 60 -65 the rpms run about 2000 rpms and when im going up hill and the gears change the rpms will run up to about 2500 rpms. Is there a way to adjust the idling to where the rpms are right and the engine has the power it is suppose to have

i wouldnt go to that guy anymore. i'm pretty sure theres even a sticker that says/said not to touch the throttle stop screw. just get it back as close as possible to the original spot. what engine do you have? auto or manual tranny?

do you still have EFI? Matts right if your still with EFI the throttle screw isnt to be touched they even glue it. Newer trucks dont have one at all. It should idle at around 700 maybe 650 in gear. If you have a carb 700 would still be about right. sounds like you got another problem if the guy messed with the idle screw..
