No, there's a couple different programs that I know of. One's to do with overheating, the other protects the converters. Over heating is limp mode, the other cuts the rail.

So there's two? Mine's not overheating. I'm pretty sure that the TPS is broken. I've got a new one on the way.

When you say it cuts the rail, is that just one side? Does it alternate banks?

Still looking for the over heating one.

Over heating is most likley on Scorpio as well, just can't locate it yet lol.

Heres another good site with info, you may find it here.

That's different, the TPS ALWAYS generates a DTC.

I've got several DTC's.

P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)

P0174 - System Too Lean (Bank 2)

P2006 - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Stuck Closed (Bank 1)

P2126 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch E Circuit Range/Performance

P2127 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch E Circuit Low

I'm starting with the TPS. It's $40, easy to replace, and it's visibly cracked so it's reasonable to assume that it's part of the problem.

that link you posted is exactly what i was looking for though. Thanks jbrew.

No problem,

Yea, that's what I was referring to, -TPS always shoots a DTC. Re-boot after you replace the TPS. Your other codes may disappear. -If by chance they come back, then deal with em
