Engine wont start

I have a 2000 F-150 with a 5.4 V8 what happens is after you drive the truck if you turn it off it doesnt always re-start it cranks but wont start as if you have either no spark or gas, then after it sits for 45 minutes to an hour it starts with no problem , you may drive the truck sometimesfor one to three weeks with no problem , It also seems to happen more when the weather is hotter, although when it happens the temperature gauge in the truck shows the engine to be in the normal temperature range. I dont know if anyone else has had this problem ,any help would be appreciated. Wayne r
