too slow?

with my upgrades my truck is still only running high 17s in the 1/4 mile. should i be running better? when i ran my 1/4 mile i had my edge on level 2 and 2 friends in the truck with me but still i feel like i should be faster than that. i only beat my friends 95 f150 with the 5.8 by one to two lengths and his is bone stock. if i get my truck tuned would that bring the power out?

first off tell us about your truck. engine, cab size, bed length, 2 or 4 wheel drive, transmission, axle gear ratio, etc. and what upgrades do you have?

take the tb spacer off and the shorty headers arent doing anything at all for you. long tubes are the way to go, shorties have been dyno proven to do nothing for the 5.4, where long tubes give i think it was 15-20hp and 15-20ftlbs torque? what brand catback exhaust?

go to 4.10 gears, long tube headers, custom tune, e-fans, clean you maf, do a tune up if needed and you should see a good improvement. how far into the truck do you wanna go?

first off i got the throttle body spacer cause it was cheap and i got the shortys because the alternative was about a grand so **** off some of us dont hav that kinda cash to throw around.

tires are 31s nothin special and the pipe goes from 2.5 to 2.25.

i was planning on getting e-fans soon but im guna wait on the gears and long tubes because of the cost. do gears require transfercase work? how much would a custom tune run? ive heard 500 an something about 50 rwhp gains.

i understand that but the tb spacer has been proven over and over to do absolutely nothing for a port fuel injected engine. and the shorty headers have been proven to to do nothing for the 5.4 as well. and you can get a set of pacesetter ceramic coated lt's for under 500 bucks on summit.

long tubes for that little? if there really under 500 id hav no problem doing that but all the long tubes ive seen have been around 1000. and im not too happy with the quality of the pacesetters ive got on right now because there suppose to be dual ceramic metallic coated or whatever and there rusting decently and its been like 2 years. but how much $ and what sort of hp an torque gain can i expect from a tune and where would i be able to get that done?

You're truck's pretty slow. You should be in the 17's stock...

I'd do a lot of basic maintanece first.

Shorty headers aren't helping, throttle body spacer isn't helping, and neither is the larger throttle body... Or the Flowmasters really... Efans and custom tunes should help.

these were the ones that i saw but yea i've heard of some issues before with rust. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-72C2227/

for a stock engine a custom tune helps alot but i dont know how much compared to an edge, but since you have the cai, the custom tuner will give you the most affective use out of that intake, but the flowmasters kinda hold you back at the bottom end though.

yea i just found those headers im guna try and snag the e-fans first and do those then ill take care of the exhaust cause il probly end up getting rid of the cats and redoing the piping.

mudterrain do you no the cost of a tune? and where id go to get something like that done? the only place ive really got that might do the tune is street legal customs on woodward.

Without a custom tune, all those parts are very expensive paper weights (even with a custom tune, the Slowmaster is still a paper weight ).

Undo the things that have been suggested and get an Xcal3 with custom tunes from VMP.
