blocks are exactly the same. the only real differences are the heads, different pistons, all forged internals, intakes, and timing covers
do you want to know how much the internals can handle or how much power the engines made?

the internals on the '03-'04's are forged, there's a few guys who've made over 950rwhp with stock long blocks

and the 4 valve motors have higher compression pistons than their 2 valve counterparts...

with that being said the blocks interchange, as do the front timing covers and bellhousings etc

let me restate this will 2v heads bolt up to it? its a 98 4.6 so dont no if it's forged then, but i would like to know how much they can handle. i found it on ebay the bids sitting at $300, and it's got 8 hours to go. you wouldn't happen to know what the compression ratio would be with with PI heads on it, i believe they are a 43cc combustion chamber.

IF you use the 2 valve timing covers then YES it will interchange...

If it is a 98 cobra motor then it has a forged crank and powdered metal rods and the crappy pistons (03/04 Cobra's are the only ones that came with manley forgings and iron blocks). 96-98 cobra's have the aluminum Teksid block. If it is a 98 iron block, then it is from a GT.
