The bigger tires will affect your MPGs

which engine? you wont get all that mpg back without regearing. but you could make sure your on top of maintenance. clean maf, change plugs if needed, change/clean air filter, and change fuel filter, change fluids if needed, etc. if you want to do some mods then e-fans, cai, and exhaust with long tubes, and custom tuner.

u lifted ur truck and put bigger tires on it and NOW ur worried about ur mpgs??? oh lord.. lol im sorry but hearing someone complain about mpgs on lifted trucks and fast cars doesnt really go hand in hand.. instead of spending all the money to gain 1 mpg or 2 back buy a beater that gets like 30... problem solved..sorry im not trying to be a ****

doesnt make much sense, but yea the beater idea is how he should do it. i'd drive my current truck everyday and have an old project pickup for a weekend driver, thats the way to do it IMO.

Did you correct the odometer for the oversize tires?

What is your current fuel mileage? I have a '03 SCREW with 5" lift & 35" tires and get around 15MPG overall. You do need to reprogram the computer to account for the larger tires. Going from the stock tires to 35" & your speedo will be lower than your actual speed (less revs per mile).

I believe the dealer can do it for around $80 (so I read somewhere). Call them & see. The tuner's aren't cheap but well worth it even if you don't run the high performance tune. I don't think I could drive my truck with the stock PCM program again.

Sorry to say those MPGs are gone for good. As the saying goes: "If you want to play, your parents have to pay!" Bigger tires take more energy to spin, plus the air under your truck is disrupted by the exposed suspension, increasing drag on the freeway, and the lower gear ratio is sucking gas around town.

you can get a little of it back correcting the odometer. Get a gryphon from power hungry performance. It a custom tuned edge. Then you can correct it and get the tunes that will make it run a bit better. In the end though your gas mileage is just gonna suck.
