what piston should i use?? 5.4

i just put my truck in the ditch in some water and hydrolocked my number one piston and bent the rod and damaged the piston. so, i figure, nows a good time to upgrade. im just curious on what everyone is using for pistons and connecting rods.

what is stock type for our trucks? dish, flat top?? cuz if i put in a flat top by the sounds of it, it will have 10.8 compression ratio. so i have to assume that its a dish. but what brand is everyone using and where to get them

also, i was looking on modmax site. is that stuff mostly for the mustangs, or is the bottom ends the same as long as its a 5.4 2v? cuz i found some parts on there i want to use, but dont know if its the same or not.

thank you for your info in advance

I'd use forged parts, so that you won't have to redo all that if you plan on using forced induction.

go with the diamond brand, coated pistons that are 5.4 specific

check out the paschal stroker kit

make sure the rods are forged and you get a 5.4 specific piston (stronger than the 4.6 piston)

your stock 5.4 crank may very well be forged...

I have yet to see one that is not
